how to smoke cbd

Getting started with the process of using CBD to experience all of the medical benefits might be a little confusing at first. This is especially true if you’ve never smoked any kind of herb before and are unsure how to do it effectively.

We’re going to change all that today, giving you some insight into how to smoked CBD in a couple of different ways so that you’re not making mistakes and wasting the products you buy.

Hopefully, this little guide can give you a little better idea of how to go forward with taking CBD and experiencing as many of the positive elements of it as you can.

Let’s get started:

How to Smoke CBD The Right Way

First of all, the only CBD that you need to smoke is CBD flower. If you’re looking for an easier way to consume the product, you could look for oil, tincture, or even some sour space candy CBD.

There are a whole bunch of different ways to consume CBD, ranging from foods to products that you just rub on your skin to get the benefits.

That said, there is something nice about smoking the CBD flower. It might be more advantageous as well, considering that the flower isn’t synthesized to strip the plant of its numerous other cannabinoids and terpenes (outside of THC which is bred out of the CBD plant.)

With those things in mind, let’s get started with the process of smoking.

1. Grind the Flower

Whether you have a grinder or not, you can still manage to break the CBD up into fine enough pieces to smoked.

That said, it’s a good idea to get a grinder if you’re planning on using CBD flower for a long period of time. It helps the process and produces a finer-ground product each time.

If you haven’t picked one up yet, though, you can simply grind it up with your fingers into little chunks that are about the size of a grain of rice or smaller if you can manage. Do this with the portion that you’d like to smoke and set it aside to put it into the piece you’re using.

2. Pack the Bowl or Piece

Depending on the size of your bowl, you’ll probably only need to place about as much CBD as would fit on the top of a quarter. That will probably end up somewhere around .2 or .3 of a gram.

Pretty much, you don’t need to fill the entire bowl with CBD flower in order to get the effects. You just need to fill it up halfway or so, unless your bowl is massive in which case you would fill it a little lower.

Pack the flower down into the piece firmly, but not so tightly that there isn’t any room for airflow. You can test this by drawing back from the bowl without lighting anything to see if you can pass air through the flower easily.

3. Lighting the Bowl

Next, it’s time to light the bowl, and this might be the most important part if you’re trying to enjoy CBD for what it is.

Many people think that you just place the flame close to the packed bowl and just pull in as hard as you can. This is one way to do it, but it’s going to blast your longs with hot smoke and you won’t be able to enjoy the flower’s nuances.

Instead, hold the lighter and flame about a half-inch away from the flower. You should be able to hold the flame at that distance without it doing anything to the packed bowl.

Keeping the flame at that distance, begin drawing slowly from the piece. The airflow should pull the flame down toward the CBD and light the top portion of it gently.

It shouldn’t be crackling or popping too much if you’re doing it this way, and this will give you a lot more control over the amount of CBD that you’re ingesting at any given hit.

Additionally, you’ll be able to taste the smoke and inhale it slowly, giving you some time to appreciate the slow onset of whatever effects there might be.

4. Inhaling the Smoke

Inhaling smoke is something that does take a little practice if you’re not used to it, even though it seems like something that wouldn’t be too hard to do.

Pulling the smoke through the bowl, try to catch the smoke in your mouth as you draw in. The smoke should pool in your mouth instead of going directly into your lungs.

You can manage this by closing your nasal passage at the back of your neck. If that doesn’t make sense, try making a really nasally voice like Spongebob Squarepants. The action you take with the nasal passage to make that sort of voice is the same one you’d use to close your throat to catch the smoke.

Once you’ve pulled enough smoke through the bowl, you can then open the nasal passage and inhale the smoke down into your lungs.

Doing this gives the smoke some time to cool down so that it isn’t too harsh on you as you pull it through. The same goes for not torching the bowl too much at first, it’s all to cool the smoke and make the experience a little more pleasant.

When it comes to exhaling, you could take a couple of different routes. On the one hand, you could blow it right out and probably experience about the same as you would if you held it.

That said, holding the smoke in for a longer period of time does give it more time to absorb into your lungs and enter your blood to work its magic. The choice is yours, either way, you’ll get the job done.

Have fun!
